ARTIST PROFILE

Since retiring in 1998 from a very fulfilling 36-year career as simultaneous Chiefs of Cardiology and Nephrology at several greater Boston area hospitals, his representational land and seascape works have been juried into more than 200 national and international exhibitions while being the recipient of over 78 awards.

Mike is an elected and/or signature member of 34 national art societies. A few of these memberships include Academic Artists Association, Allied Artists of America, The American Artists Professional League (fellow), the Salmagundi Club, Watercolor U.S.A. Honor Society and the New England Watercolor Society of which he served three years as President and was intrumental in establishing the Society's Gallery on Newbury Street in Boston.

Two of his paintings have been chosen for inclusion in the boat and water section of Splash 10 to be published by North Light Books in 2008 which reflects the works of 100 of the top contemporary watercolorists in America. He recently completed a three month solo show of 35 of his maritime paintings at the New Bedford Art Museum in New Bedford, Mass and has been invited to have a one-man show at The Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis, Mass from March to May, 2009.

His work is in many public, private and corporate collections throughout the United States. He is represented by Galleries South of Boston and on Cape Cod.
