Over the years, we have purchased goods from all parts of China, but we now focus our purchasing from the dealers and markets in Beijing because Beijing’s climate is most similar to the climate in the northeast US, our primary customer base. We have found that furniture from Shanghai and southern China tends to shrink when exposed to the dry winter climate in New England. In addition to our buying in Asia we buy regularly from auctions and individuals in America and Europe in order to obtain fine Asian antiques and art.
